Two ways to go deep
Depthwise offers two distinct ways to work: leadership experiences on land, and freediving courses and retreats underwater.
Leadership training and team shifts disguised as play
On land
Somewhere between childhood and the boardroom, we stopped learning through play. We replaced it with slide decks, workbooks that disappear into drawers, and team building days that could be an episode of a TV satire show.
The result is leadership development that doesn't stick. It’s got nothing to do with the skill and commitment of those involved, and everything to do with the fact that the method doesn’t match how humans actually learn.
At depthwise we play games. Designed, purposeful games that create the conditions for embodied learning and real leadership shifts. Trust falls strictly prohibited. Through structured experiences we support your teams to make the specific capability shifts they need to make in the face of pressure.
High performing teams are facing intense pressures: new technologies, market disruption, internal friction, the demand to think and lead differently. depthwise sessions are designed for teams ready to meet those pressures - in half and full day formats, built around what your team actually needs.

Depth for leaders
Freediving and leadership have more in common than you might expect. Both require presence, trust, and the ability to perform under pressure. This experience brings them together as a structured introduction to freediving with leadership reflection woven through.

FAQ
Answers for leadership sessions on land and freediving experiences underwater.
On land

Absolutely not. No one will be sharing fun facts about themselves or doing a trust fall. No one will be building anything with paddle pop sticks. The structure of a session is specifically tailored to the shifts a team is seeking to make and to meet the team where they are at. Whether it’s a newly formed Board looking to build more collective strategic capacity or an established leadership team looking to make a shift in internal culture, depthwise sessions go beyond a framework to actually feeling the shifts in action. The exploratory work to identify this is key

As a former Executive, I understand the importance of being able to measure the impact of your investment in your teams. That’s why depthwise offers quick and informative baseline and post-training impact measurement. Measurements are based around the specific shifts you are trying to achieve.

Somewhere along the way we forgot that we are supposed to enjoy our time here on earth. How we spend our days is how we spend our lives, and I guarantee you will do a better job of supporting your organization and your teams if the load feels lighter and you explore new ways of thinking and acting. Also - depthwise sessions pack a punch - don’t expect to catch up on missed sleep during them!
-
Yes! We are very experienced in running training and facilitation for diverse groups. While our sessions are designed with accessibility in mind, we also believe good accessibility includes creating an environment where people can advocate for themselves. And ultimately we have seen time and time again that accessibility tends to benefit everyone.
-
You’re not alone - high performing teams that are constantly pushing themselves and adapting to internal and external drivers regularly run into conflict - that’s normal and healthy. Not to mention, we are all human and dysfunction can occur. There’s nothing worse than knowing the components of a team are individually strong but there’s something stopping them reaching their full potential. If you’re noticing and naming it you’re halfway there. depthwise can support with working through this in a direct but sensitive and structured way so that the team is prepared to make a shift.
-
depthwise sessions will vary depending on the team and the shift it is trying to achieve and we work with you to build a session that you are comfortable with (but also hopefully a bit uncomfortable!) Sessions may include physical games that engage that fight or flight response and table top games that explore scenario based decision making. The sessions will always involve framing and reflection elements to ensure the team is translating the learnings into their day to day roles, although what is day to day about any leadership role these days?

Freediving is the skill of holding your breath for extended periods underwater. People use it to explore distance and depth, and to journey into the water and meet the wonderful creatures that live there. Freediving can be different things to many people, but at it’s core involves the ability to communicate with yourself - both to read the signals from your mind and body, and to regulate both by exploring softening and vulnerability. The takeaways may be different for everyone but no one leaves unchanged.

If you have curiosity about whether diving is for you, please get in touch to start the conversation. Every single diver encounters challenges and barriers but as an instructor I’m here to support you to find your own path through them. Sometimes it starts with noticing when your brain is trying to keep you safe and stop you taking risks. As a person with a disability who has worked in the disability sector for a decade, I think we can find a way and have fun while doing it.

We are currently building the 2026 and 2027 calendar and exploring how to make freediving as accessible as possible. Wave 1 and Wave 2 are generally each two day courses, with the first covering theory and pool and the second being an open water dive. However, we’re exploring other structures to support accessibility.

There are different internationally recognised freediving qualifications. What sets Molchanovs apart is the focus on technique and the high standards that Molchanovs Instructors need to meet and maintain. Wave 1 is an entry level qualification and includes theory, pool and open water components (meaning you’ll train in theory and pass an exam, learn valuable techniques in the pool, and then explore depth and safety training in the ocean). Wave 2 is more advanced and challenging.

If you've ever read a life-changing book, been moved by a powerful quote, or heard a presenter who genuinely shifted your thinking then you already have some sense of what freediving can do, if you're open to it.
As a former Executive, I know how much self-knowledge and self-leadership matter and how rarely we're given the space to develop them. My favourite part of leading was watching people become more aligned, more empowered, more themselves. And time and again, I saw that translate into people who were simply happier and healthier. I think it's about equilibrium.
If you're curious about the inner journey as much as the underwater one, that's where I come in.
